Day-wise Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival & Kaziranga Wildlife

Arrive at Guwahati Airport or Railway Station and transfer directly to Kaziranga National Park. Check into your hotel. In the evening, enjoy an exceptional cultural performance or folk dance at the nearby Orchid Park, followed by dinner at your accommodation.

Day 2: Safari & Ascent to Bomdila

Start the day with a thrilling Jeep safari in the Western Ghats section of Kaziranga to spot wildlife. After check-out, take a scenic drive to Bomdila, situated at a high altitude. Upon arrival, explore the vibrant local market before dinner.

Day 3: Monastery, Viewpoint & Dirang

After breakfast, visit the serene Bomdila Monastery and the breathtaking Bomdila View Point. Afterwards, drive to Dirang and check in. In the afternoon, take a historical walk through Dirang Dzong village, a settlement dating back to the 9th century.

Day 4: Sela Pass to Tawang

Today is a highlight: drive to Tawang, crossing the breathtaking Sela Pass (13,700 ft). Stop to pay respects at the Jaswant Garh War Memorial and admire the beautiful Nuranang Waterfalls. Arrive in Tawang and check into your hotel for the night.

Day 5: Tawang Monastery & Sightseeing

Dedicate the day to exploring Tawang’s cultural gems. Visit the magnificent Tawang Monastery, the nunnery, and the majestic 18-foot-high, 400-year-old Lord Buddha statue. Conclude the day with visits to the local craft centre and emporium.

Day 6: Chaksam Bridge & Dirang Return

After breakfast, check out and drive back to Dirang. En route, stop to see the historic Chaksam Bridge, a remarkable 14th-century architectural feat. After checking in, visit the Thubsung Dhargyeling Monastery and enjoy an authentic culinary class.

Day 7: Nameri & Nyishi Encounters

Check out and drive to Nameri, located close to the Assam border. After checking in, spend the afternoon exploring nearby Nyishi tribal villages for a fascinating glimpse into the customs and daily lives of the local communities.

Day 8: Nature Walk to Itanagar

Begin with an early morning nature walk for birdwatching in Nameri. After breakfast, visit the Golden Masher and Pygmy Hog conservation centres. Drive to Itanagar, stopping to visit a tea garden on the way before checking into your hotel.

Day 9: Itanagar to Ziro Valley

After breakfast, drive toward the beautiful Ziro Valley. En route, visit the Naharlagun local market, the Itanagar Buddhist Gompa, and more Nyishi tribal settlements. Upon arrival, check into your accommodation in the captivating valley.

Day 10: Ziro Festival Immersion

Spend a full day immersed in the vibrant atmosphere of the Myoko Festival (note: this unique cultural festival is held annually in March). Experience the grand celebrations, ancient rituals, and community bonding that make this festival famous in Ziro.

Day 11: Apatani Tribal Life

Dedicate the day to exploring the unique culture of the Apatani tribes in their villages within Ziro Valley. Visit the local market, craft centre, and emporium to understand their distinct agricultural practices and lifestyle, creating a truly memorable experience.

Day 12: Journey to Tezpur

After checking out from Ziro, embark on the long drive to Tezpur in Assam. Settle into your hotel and enjoy a relaxing evening, reflecting on the rich experiences and unique cultures encountered during the Arunachal Pradesh journey.

Day 13: Departure from Guwahati
